I've written every day in a journal since I was in seventh grade. That's written long hand (quite a concept these days). But these past few months I've been slacking off in my journal. I still write every day, but many times entries are more like my status updates on Twitter.
Yesterday I went to a mini lecture on blogging put on by the university communications specialist. There are 15 of us who will be blogging on a university blog while studying abroad in South Africa and Madrid. He stressed to many an amateur blogger the importance of short, concise, focused posts.
No one wants to read your stream of consciousness ...
... because everyone's busy these days.
So I guess that means I don't even have time to write down my stream of consciousness in my own journal, much less read anyone else's. Or it means the digital age of journalism is taking over everything. Watch out.
